Yuinmery Drilling 2007
Historic Results over Airborne Survey

Yuinmery Uranium Project [WESTERN AUSTRALIA]

  • 100km2 Licence held 100% by Aldershot
  • Shallow (1-3m) historical resource of 1.5Mt @ 379 ppm U3O8
  • Airborne radiometric-magnetic survey completed and three anomalous zones identified.
  • Drill testing completed along one third of a 5.5 km zone
  • Assays returned upto 1509 ppm U3O8
  • Average grade of 356 ppm U3O8 for intersections above 200 ppm U3O8.

The Yuinmery uranium project, defined by Exploration Licence E57/593 is located 480km northeast of Perth within the Yilgarn Province of Western Australia.  The Licence, granted on 14 October 2005, covers 100km2 and is owned 100% by Aldershot.

The primary target is surficial (calcrete type) uranium deposits.  An historical resource of 1.577Mt @ 379 ppm U3O8 (Styles, 1998) has been reported.  Previous drilling has intersected uranium mineralisation at two levels, in brown sandy clay (0-1m) and at the base of a calcrete unit (2-3m).  The best historical drill intercept was in GHY9 with 1592 ppm U3O8 from 1.5-3m.

Aldershot’s 2007 drilling program, carried out between July and November 2007, tested the central portion of the historical resource with 209 holes each about 5m deep and spaced 100m x 100m. The assay results above 250 ppm U3O8 are tabulated below:-

This drill program tested 1500m of a 4000m zone.  To the west intersections of upto 442 ppm U3O8 are recorded with upto 271 ppm U3O8 further east.

The next phase in exploration is an understanding of the leachability of the mineralisation and influence of cavities on drill sample recovery through alternative drilling methods prior to initiating a further drill program.

A second sub-parallel zone ~ 300m north has still to be tested, plus a second area 800m south where historic drilling intersected 790 ppm U3O8.

An additional target type not tested during 2007 and requiring testing is possible sandstone type (palaeochannel) mineralization within the deeper reduced lake sediments.
